Blue Mountains for food lovers

With everything you need to cook a feast at home, you could have a wonderful meals at Carramar.
We were fortunate to have a chef stay, and she said "
The kitchen was an absolute highlight. I had everything I could need to do a 3 course dinner. Very tidy, well equipped & organised."
But if you can pull yourself away,
locals know that the Blue Mountains has an undiscovered and excellent food scene. Artisan cheeses, crisp wines, and dinners by a roaring fire

Dryridge Estate

We visited the blue mountains regularly for over a decade before I visited Megalong Valley, and what a treat! This winery is well known, and there are others nearby if you want to make a day trip of it

Silks Brassiere
Lake Street, Wentworth Falls

Run by a local family, well loved for a better-than-normal date nights

Saturday nights are busy, so try Friday or book ahead. One of our guests walked there - takes half an hour to walk and 5 mins to drive. We would not do that in winter, but makes for a grand adventure

Sorensens Glasshouse & Gardens

8 Herbert St

Sorensen was a creative and unique gardener well loved by the locals of the Blue Mountains. Traces of his work are found in many of the heritage gardens of the area, and he worked on the Carramar heritage listed garden also. Some locals took on the restoration of a greenhouse in one of his gardens, and it has a great upmarket coffee shop and cafe with outdoor seating and awesome brunches

The Bunker Cafe Bar Restaurant

117-121 Leura Mall

A great restaurant in an historic home, with staggering views. Make sure to book ahead in busy season, or get there in time to watch the sun set

Darley's Restaurant Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa

For a peaceful three course set menu in a gorgeous historic home, this is a good place to impress your loved one. It is not quite as fantabulous as some of the tippy-toppy restaurants in Sydney, but the prices are reasonable for a 3 course meal

Canton Palace Wentworth Falls 7 Station St

The Beef Rendang is melty-good, spring rolls crispy and hand made, all great. Not the absolute cheapest you will ever find, but they will even send their own driver around to do deliveries for a small fee - perfect if you don't feel like moving, at all.
